Alegio Chocolaté / Claudio Corallo Update

Dear friend; we miss you!

In this time of uncertainty, we hope that you, your family and friends are safe and healthy.

Since the beginning of March, when the Covid-19 pandemic started, our work in São Tomé & Príncipe was postponed and our production facility had to be closed.

However, The crisis was there Before the virus took over the globe, thanks to another lethal problem: air transport management in efficiency and inability (perhaps ineptitude?) of the authorities to create a basic airport safety standards and to ensure cargo transportation between São Tomé and the rest of the world. As a result, the country's STP-Airways and the Portuguese carrier TAP stopped transporting cargo leaving São Tomé airport.

So, at the present, we have no more of our chocolate left; but since the holiday season is fast approaching, we decided not to wait for "the kindness of strangers" to fly our chocolate from São Tomé to California, but instead introduce you to the work of one of the most extraordinary and talented New Yorker artisan chocolatiers: Joan Coukos.

For this holiday season and for a limited time only Joan's chocolate creations will be available for purchase at our shop and our online shop. Mary Oliver, the poet, one said, "Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable." That seems just right for this holiday season.

Thank you all for your support at these times of distress. Be well, stay safe, happy and keep in touch.
